Dev blog #6 documentations
Did you know that you need a ton of documents when you are starting a new project? Well it isn't exactly a must, but it is rather more of a thing that you would like to have since it clears a lot of things up and makes sure that everyone involved is on the same page. In the long run it will make a lot of things easier as well since you have already either decided about certain decisions or are able to see the bigger picture.
As boring as it is writing documents are extremely important. And that is also what I have been doing these past couple of days. Not just any document, but quite a particular one. We refer to it as a game design document. This document contains in a nutshell everything you need to know in order to start working with the project. This goes from people specialized in marketing to highly skilled developers that can write their own fancy shaders.
Our artist has been giving a particular building in his concept art a lot more attention and detail. Below you can see a sketch from it. And it is just one of the many that will come in the game. Sketches like these will give us a clear view about the art style and color palette (eventually) that will be used when we will start prototyping. But for now we will leave it at this.
Thanks for reading and I hope you will have a great weekend!
